Question by Cameron: What does the term “Middle Class Anxiety” mean to you, personally?
Do you believe that social classes exist in America?
How would you define your socio-economic position (for perspective)?
If you believe that classes exist in the US, do you believe there are stressors and anxieties that help define America’s middle class? Why or why not?
How do you believe those anxieties (or lack of anxieties) manifest themselves in day-to-day behavior?
I’m doing a little research here. Thanks for taking part!

Social classes definitely exist in America, or any other country.
Middle class is between the privileged class and the under-privileged class. It is like the salami, lettuce, and mayonnaise between two slices of bread. It is like the middle-age parent who is squeezed between his aged parents and his growing children. He is usually stressed out. That’s why you get the “middle class anxiety.”
Middle class is the lead runners of the herd. They are not quite in the elite, nor are they poor. That’s why they are stressed up.
In terms of economic and financial status, middle class is supported by one or two jobs in the family. They feel rich when with the under-privileged. They feel poor in the midst of the privileged class. Middle class is not a fixed income bracket, but is definitely more to do with one’s mind-set towards, money, power, freedom, well-being and self-actualization.
From this anxiety, come the middle class diseases – diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and so on.
One way to respond to this middle class anxiety is to formulate a holistic plan that covers and balances all relevant aspects of life – health, wealth, relationship and contribution to society.
So long as you are a follower, you will suffer anxiety, because control is in someone’s hands. To have more control over all aspects of your life, you need a strategy that involves comprehensive education in each aspect of life, and practising all the lifestyle elements that each discipline requires (whether you like it or not). Get the right talk, and walk your talk. This is how disciplined people rise to the top. In other words, you must invest in whatever it takes to become a role model or leader in health, wealth, relationship and contribution to society.
Just the prospect of rising and improving all the four aspects of life will cure you of middle class anxiety.
